About

The roofer your
grandparents called.

Still answers the phone. Still climbs the ladder.

Era one · The founding

Roofing Madison County
before it was Madison County.

Madison County Roofing was founded in 1937. That's older than the interstate that runs through Collinsville. Older than zip codes. Older than asphalt shingles being the standard roofing material in America.

What's stayed constant for eighty-seven years is the same thing that's true today: this is a family business, doing the same trade, in the same county. Madison County homeowners across multiple generations have called this number. A surprising number of customers got our name from their parents.

Era two · Today

Mark Eck, the team,
and one parking lot in Collinsville.

Today the company is owned and run by Mark Eck. Family members work alongside Mark in the field. Janet — most customers call her Jan — runs the office and schedules every estimate. Kelly handles the books. Stephanie keeps the rest of the operation moving.

Mark is on every single job site. Not as a sales gimmick — because that's the only way he knows how to run it. He scopes the work himself. He meets the adjusters himself. He follows up with you himself.

The crew has been together for a decade or more. Every technician on the roof has 10+ years of experience. That continuity is the difference between a company that's been in business since 1937 and a company that calls itself "established" because it bought the same domain in 2018.

What you can count on

Three things, every job, every time.

  • — Mark on site. For the estimate. For the install. For the follow-up.
  • — A free in-person estimate. Real number, on real paper. No phone-quote nonsense.
  • — Cleanup that gets noticed. It's in almost every review for a reason.
Why customers come back

We get
handwritten thank-you cards.

Real ones. In the mail. After eighty-seven years it turns out the highest compliment is still a note on stationery. We've kept the cards in a binder in the office. A few of them:

Mark — the roof looks great. Your crew did a fantastic job — were very polite and nice.

— with thanks

GREAT JOB! Couldn't believe how fast the job went, and no clean-up on my part!

— A neighbor on Longfellow

Mark — Yay!! Finally got it in between the raindrops!! Thanks very much for your work and also for the senior discount.

— With gratitude

Thank you for being careful around the plants. You should be proud of your sons.

— A neighbor

Hi Kelly, here is the payment for half the cost of the roof… The roof is beautiful. I have people stopping by to ask what company did the job. Many compliments…

— A grateful customer

Mark — I just wanted to thank you for the excellent work you did on my house at such a reasonable price.

— Thank you!

Thank you for your good work and for being careful around the plants. You should be proud of your sons.

Manufacturer programs like CertainTeed ShingleMaster aren't pay-to-play. They require sustained, audited install quality over years. Most roofers don't carry them. We do.

We recently moved into a new home that was in need of new siding. Madison County Roofing had done both siding and roofing work at our previous home so we contacted them again. Their attention to detail was terrific.
